About Us

Christine and Sumner have been friends for over 11 years, and law partners for over 5 years. They met while working for Atlanta Legal Aid in the summer of 1995 where they worked together providing free legal services to indigent populations in the metro Atlanta area. Christine and Sumner had a strong work ethic, commitment to the law, and passion for providing quality legal services to their clients.

Upon graduation from law school, Sumner went into private practice where he focused on civil litigation primarily in the litigation and trial of civil, personal cases.

Upon graduation from law school, Christine began focusing her litigation practice in the areas of criminal law particularly developing a speciality in the defense of DUI cases and major felony cases.

In February, 2001, Christine and Sumner bought their current law office in downtown Lawrenceville and formed Koehler and Riddick, LLC. Since 2001, Christine and Sumner have forged a strong partnership and a high quality legal practice.

Christine continues to focus on her criminal practice which consists of the defense of those charged with DUIs, and the litigation of other criminal matters including defending those charged with theft, drug possession, aggravated assault, vehicular homicide, rape, child molestation and murder. In a recent high profile case, Christine tried a 9 week death penalty case in Gwinnett County to a successful verdict.

Sumner’s practice has expanded into a successful domestic law practice which includes divorce, child support issues, child custody issues, contempt issues, and family violence issues. Sumner also continues to maintain a high quality, successful personal injury practice taking care of those folks seriously injured in car wreck cases.

Together, with the assistance of their incredible staff, Christine Koehler and Sumner Riddick have created a successful law practice that has been recognized four (4) years in a row as being one of the best law firms in Gwinnett County as voted on by the community in Gwinnett Magazine. They look forward to compassionately and effectively taking care of their clients for years to come.
